Fantasy literature often raises important ideas. These ideas may bring readers comfort at some times, disturbance at others. Perhaps, through that juxtaposition, fantasy literature can create the opportunity for readers to make sense of the world.
What inspires fantasy authors to create these richly-imagined realms? What are the challenges and how are they resolved? Please join Children's Books Boston and an acclaimed panel for a lively discussion of the creation, impact, and importance of fantasy worlds in children's and young adult literature.
As always, we welcome anyone with an interest in children's books—whether through publishing, writing, illustrating, teaching, librarianship, or book-selling. We hope you will join us!
RSVP here (by February 16 greatly appreciated). Space is limited. $5.00 cover charge at the door—cash only.
Please note: we can provide limited parking at a discounted garage rate for this event, but parking must be reserved no later than February 9. Please send an email request to firstname.lastname@example.org. You will receive a confirmation with directions to the garage.
